You are just coming back to Rochester after getting your MBA and working in Shanghai, what was that like?
I loved living in Shanghai - it's a city unlike any in the world, where east meets west and old Chinese traditions are blended with modernism. Each time you step out of your apartment building is an adventure in itself, because you never know where the day will take you. It's a city of hustlers, transition, and contrasting worlds, and I tried to soak in every minute of it.
What do you like most about marketing?
What I enjoy about marketing is that it is a challenging and broad concept that heavily depends on strategic thinking. It’s never stagnant, and there are always new and interesting ideas that can be learned and applied to your daily work life. The landscape of marketing is always changing, and as we continue to push on into the digital age, there’s always a new and exciting possibility that lies just around the corner.
Why did you join Edge?
Being someone who appreciates design and aesthetics, I am fascinated with the world of architecture and excited for this opportunity to learn more about it. One of the things that attracted me to Edge in particular is the wonderful sense of team spirit one feels when they walk in the door, and now I am proud to say I’m a part of that.
What do you like to do outside work?
Outside of work, there are two things I love most in this world: traveling and food. When you’re born Chinese, you’re gifted with an obsession with food and an insatiable desire to try and stuff all the different kinds of food the world has to offer in your face. But there IS one thing I love better than a good meal, and that’s seeing other people enjoy something that I’ve cooked or baked!
