ARCHITECTS

Marking their 20th year of business, Edge Architecture has had their hand in a whole list of projects, as company CEO Allen Rossignol proudly points out. “We measure our success on the meaningful impact we have on buildings and spaces within the Rochester community,” Rossignol says. “We have designed state-of-the-art school facilities, community centers, libraries and other spaces for high-need communities.”

Rossignol wants to take special notice of a handful of projects worked on since July of last year.

For Rochester Prep High School on Mark Street, the architectural work for the school’s new building was extensive, including a 35,000-square-foot addition along with renovation work.

“State-of-the-art technology was incorporated throughout to better meet the students’ needs and prepare them for success after graduation,” Rossignol notes. “Separate entrances to the gym and cafeteria were incorporated to allow for community use.”

Edge Architecture also worked on the full-scale renovation of the Lincoln Library on Joseph Avenue. “It is located in a high-need residential neighborhood with large youth and transient populations,” Rossignol explains. “The redesign addressed the need for a center of safety for the community while being able to better provide much needed services and programs.”

The company also worked in projects across Western New York and as far away as Mississippi and West Virginia.

“We take the time to understand the community within which we are designing,” Rossignol says. “Part of our success is working within the communities. This ensures community acceptance and improves use.”
