CAMPBELL STREET R-CENTER

Rochester’s R-centers offer year-round social, cultural and athletic programs, as well as free summer breakfast and lunch, school-year dinners, and homework help. For this project, it was important to understand issues surrounding both the facility and the needs of the neighborhood. Edge attended open houses to present ideas, and receive feedback informing the final designs.

This upgrade secures the future Campbell Street R-Center as a safe place to learn and have fun while making friends and memories.

EXTERIOR

Improvements to this city fixture included a gymnasium upgrade, new windows, a kitchen remodel, and other building system enhancements.

EXTERIOR

Edge team members attended neighborhood open houses to present ideas and solicit feedback and input from staff, youth, and City leadership.

GYMNASIUM

Dark and dated, the gymnasium was outfitted with new windows for more natural light. Fresh paint adds to an overall brighter, and fresher look.

GYMNASIUM

The vision was to give the recreation center a visually lighter environment. The logo on the floor is based on drawings created by local children.

GYMNASIUM

Nicknamed The “Bell”, the recreation center is a Sports Magnet Site, offering coaching/training for basketball, football, baseball, lacrosse, soccer & accessible sports.

KITCHEN

The kitchen pops with accent colors, & stainless cabinets. The new kitchen allows for the addition of cooking classes for both parents and children.
